News from Sylvie d'Aragon, Director General
Thanks to the excellent cooperation received at every level of the organization, it is very satisfying to look back and even more so, to look ahead. Here are some of the events and news since my arrival last summer: the Christmas Supper and the Christmas Tea were both a huge success, with lots of very pleasant moments and nice family pictures.
The Residence received $3800 in donations from generous people of the community, namely,
the Ladies Committee, the Estate of Mrs Mary Bryne, the family of Mr. John Wynn, the Order of the Eastern Star and St. Simeon’s Seniors’. A much appreciated $14,000 entertainment system was purchased in December as a Christmas gift to the residents.New dishes, silverware, tablecloths and candlelights contributed to embellish the dining room atmosphere. By March, the painting of the Residence’s common areas should be completed; the recreation and rehabilitation room, the new medical office, the cleaning room and the hairdresser room will have been reorganized and refreshed.
We have had inspection visitors from the Laurentian Health and Social Services Agency, the Order of Nurses and the Ministry: These inspections are to ensure that quality services are being provided to the residents, and we are awaiting their reports. Many thanks to you, residents, relatives, volunteers and employees for your participation during this visit with only 24-hour notification. Your comments were highly appreciated and will make the difference.A new organizational plan is in preparation. Several committees are being implemented between now and the end of March. Each Newsletter will be an opportunity to present one of these committees.
For your convenience, pictures taken at the Christmas Supper and at the Christmas Tea are now available to you at the following address. You may download as many as you wish, free of charge.
Your contribution
If by any chance, you have picture books or puzzles you no longer use, it might be just what one of the residents would highly enjoy. We are reviewing our residents’ dining menus and are therefore collecting suggestions for preferred recipes. If your loved one is fond of a particular dish please let us know, it will help us please him/her more.If you have any ideas that would benefit the residents, do not hesitate to come forward.
